The Builders' Registration Board aims to ensure the highest possible standards in the Western Australian building industry by:
- determining the course of training for a builder to be registered;
- maintaining a register of registered builders;
- issuing certificates of registration;
- taking proceedings for offences against the Builders' Registration Act 1939 and the Home Building Contracts Act 1991;
- carrying out the provisions of the Builders’ Registration Act 1939; and
- carrying out building information and educational activities.

Becoming a builder - course and consultancy
Master Builders has introduced a “Next Step – Builder” seminar to demystify the process for builders’ registration in Western Australia. Master Builders “Next Step – Builder” seminars assist persons or organisations seeking registration as a builder in Western Australia.
“Next Step – Builder” information seminars are conducted regularly to guide you through the process of applying for registration as a builder. At these 2-hour sessions, the requirements for registration are outlined together with general advice on how to prepare your submission to comply with BRB requirements.
The Seminars will:
- Assist you prepare your application for builders’ registration in accordance with BRB requirements.
- Provide advice on BRB registration policies and proceedings
- Illustrate suitable templates and guidelines for applicants, including those in remote areas.
